About

Formed in Northern California in 2008, Compassionate Living is a 501c3 non-profit organization working for a world where no animal has to suffer at human hands. Through outreach campaigns, educational initiatives and community building activities, Compassionate Living works not only to relieve the suffering of farmed animals, but to show how we can build a more sustainable, just and non-violent world, one where we can all prosper in peace and vibrant health.

Compassionate Living hosts monthly vegan potlucks in various cities in Sonoma County and also hosts knowledgeable speakers and film showings throughout the year. Our Outreach Team is energizing the county with educational video outreach, leafletings, and tabling; informing our community about the suffering of farmed animals and the benefits of a plant-based diet. We are the main sponsor and organizer of the Sonoma County VegFest, a celebration of compassionate eating, held in Santa Rosa every summer.

Statement of Purpose

To create a compassionate world where animals are free from human imposed suffering by promoting lifestyles choices which support and protect animals and by sharing with our community the benefits of a vegan diet through education and outreach.
